Class Types

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is based upon Taoist yoga and has been further developed in the West by Paul and Sara Grilley. Yin Yoga will relax and relieve tension and works deep into connective tissue or fascia. The ligaments and tendons are gently stretched in a way that is healthy for the body. The poses are held for 3 to 5 minutes with two minute rebounds to relax and feel the Qi move in the body. This is a mindful, meditative practice which will leave you totally relaxed. Find out more about Yin Yoga here.

Rocket Yoga

Rocket Yoga was developed by Larry Schultz in the 1980s and is based around Ashtanga Vinyasa primary and intermediate series. This is a fast flow class designed to get you where you want to be in yoga faster. Unlike traditional Ashtanga, Rocket is easier for the beginner to grasp and progresses at a faster rate. Find out more about Rocket Yoga here.

Dynamic Yoga

Dynamic Yoga is a fusion of vinyasa styles. It is a fast-paced class to build up heat and sweat to detox the body. Starts and ends with a meditation, includes inversions and arm balances.

Private Lessons

If you’re an absolute beginner in yoga I’d thoroughly recommend getting a course of private lessons. This will give you a sound grounding in yoga and get you going quicker with more focus from the teacher, who is able to train you in good alignment and breathing techniques and perform hands-on adjustments throughout the class. A series of six one hour sessions should be enough to kick-start you on the road to being a yogi and help you get ready to start a lifetime’s practice. I can provide these for £50/hour, including room hire from Anahata Health Clinic. Sharing the cost with a friend or partner makes this a very economical way to get started on your yoga journey!

Private lessons can also help intermediate and advanced yogis who are trying to further their practice to nail certain poses or who want to prepare for a teacher training course. Please contact me if you’d like to discuss this opportunity.
